While entry into the ‘Communities” section of the community.MedShadow.org website and its platforms is free of charge, guests must first create an account. A link for the creation of an account can be found on the MedShadow homepage: community.medshadow.org or by clicking this link.
Members must be age 14 or older to participate in Communities. All sharing of information is completely voluntary. It is understood that no funds will change hands, as users are not charged for the use of the platform, nor will they be compensated for posts they volunteer in making.
Creation of an account with MedShadow and use of said account to post comments, questions, or information on the “Communities” platform must be done by a single individual, as no company, government, organization, nor other legal entity may hold an account. While first and last names may be gathered along with email addresses via membership sign-up, users will not be required to use their actual legal names while posting. Legal real names, however, will be retained by MedShadow Foundation for the purposes of marketing MedShadow news and products, maintain contact information, and for legal purposes.
MedShadow reserves the right to remove or update any user names found to be inappropriate, in violation of the terms of service, or otherwise misused, such as an impersonation of another person, company, or entity. MedShadow will retain the rights to its content. Any posts made to the “Communities” platform will remain your intellectual property. MedShadow is permitted to use any phrasing, posts, or experiences shared on the Communities platform in articles. All names or identifying information will be removed from publication.
MedShadow remains free from influence of pharmaceutical and funding. We ask that all members that register to participate in the Communities space are also free from influence. No direct employee of, major stockholder of, nor representative of the industry should engage in conversation so that we may remain free from influence. Additionally, if you had any prior connection to the pharmaceutical industry, we ask that you disclose that past relationship in discussion to be transparent and free from unknown influence. That said, we are relying on our users to be honest and open about their relationships to the industry. MedShadow does not have the capability to background check each individual user, but will ask that no industry influence use the platform for influence, financial gain, biased reporting, or misinformation. Any discovered misrepresentation of a user’s account will result in a block and ban from future site use.
Membership information entered while creating an account with MedShadow will not be sold to other vendors. MedShadow maintains the right to email users with newsletters, educational materials, fundraising efforts, and other marketing products for internal use only. No other vendors will see your private information. MedShadow will maintain the secure storage of all information. No names nor emails will be shared with any other third parties.
Use of Membership
You are responsible for your use of the Services and for any Content you provide, including compliance with applicable laws, rules, and regulations both on the platform and in governing districts of use. You should only provide content that you are comfortable sharing with others.
Any use or reliance on any content or materials posted via the services or obtained by you through the services is prohibited. MedShadow reserves the right to close any account for violations of the terms of service. We do not endorse, support, represent or guarantee the completeness, truthfulness, accuracy, or reliability of any content or communications posted via the services or endorse any opinions expressed via the services.
You understand that by using Communities, you may be exposed to content that might be offensive, harmful, inaccurate, or otherwise inappropriate, or in some cases, postings that have been mislabeled or are otherwise deceptive. All content is the sole responsibility of the person who originated such content. MedShadow reserves the right to monitor and control the content posted via Communities, though we cannot take responsibility for the creation of content by the platform’s users.
We reserve the right to remove posts that violate the terms of service, including for example, copyright or trademark violations or other intellectual property misappropriation, impersonation, unlawful conduct, or harassment. Information regarding specific policies and the process for reporting or appealing violations can be found within each group’s posted rules.
Any use of Communities for promotion, advertising, or marketing of any product or service is strictly prohibited and will not be approved for posting. Moderators for each group reserve the right to disallow any comments found to be in violation of the terms, including but not limited to the use of foul language, harassment, attacking or bullying, the use of specific names outside of the individual user his or herself. No doctors, hospitals, nor healthcare professionals nor providers may be named in any post.
MedShadow Communities are designed to help build gatherings of those with common interests. Administrators (admins, moderators, or employees of MedShadow) act as the leaders, representatives, and caretakers of these communities. Admins are expected to represent themselves authentically and to promote the safety and well-being of their communities.
When admins create content that violates our policies (or when group admins or moderators approve violating content created by others) we may take legal action against the moderator, administrator or individual user in the location in which the content appeared.
You may end your legal agreement with MedShadow at any time by deactivating your account and discontinuing the use of the Communities platform. MedShadow maintains the right to deactivate any account found to be in violation of these terms.
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, MEDSHADOW ENTITIES SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR ANY LOSS OF PROFITS OR REVENUES, WHETHER INCURRED DIRECTLY OR INDIRECTLY, OR ANY LOSS OF DATA, USE, GOODWILL, OR OTHER INTANGIBLE LOSSES, RESULTING FROM (i) YOUR ACCESS TO OR USE OF OR INABILITY TO ACCESS OR USE THE SERVICES; (ii) ANY CONDUCT OR CONTENT OF ANY THIRD PARTY ON THE SERVICES, INCLUDING WITHOUT LIMITATION, ANY DEFAMATORY, OFFENSIVE OR ILLEGAL CONDUCT OF OTHER USERS OR THIRD PARTIES; (iii) ANY CONTENT OBTAINED FROM THE SERVICES; OR (iv) UNAUTHORIZED ACCESS, USE OR ALTERATION OF YOUR TRANSMISSIONS OR CONTENT. IN NO EVENT SHALL THE AGGREGATE LIABILITY OF THE MEDSHADOW EXCEED THE GREATER OF TEN U.S. DOLLARS (U.S. $10.00) OR THE AMOUNT YOU PAID US, IF ANY, IN THE PAST SIX MONTHS FOR THE SERVICES GIVING RISE TO THE CLAIM. THE LIMITATIONS OF THIS SUBSECTION SHALL APPLY TO ANY THEORY OF LIABILITY, WHETHER BASED ON WARRANTY, CONTRACT, STATUTE, TORT (INCLUDING NEGLIGENCE) OR OTHERWISE, AND WHETHER OR NOT THE MEDSHADOW ENTITIES HAVE BEEN INFORMED OF THE POSSIBILITY OF ANY SUCH DAMAGE, AND EVEN IF A REMEDY SET FORTH HEREIN IS FOUND TO HAVE FAILED OF ITS ESSENTIAL PURPOSE.
Any changes in the terms of service will be made clear immediately on this website. No changes will be retroactive in nature. Any changes will be communicated to all members via email. Any use of the platform or MedShadow entities beyond a change in term of service is an automatic acceptance of said changes.

MedShadow receives donations on the website. We use third-party services for payment processing such as PayPal or Stripe (e.g. payment processors).
We will not collect or store your payment card details.
This information is provided by you directly to our third-party payment processors who have standards set by the PCI Security Standards Council and administered by PCI-DSS. PCI-DSS requirements to safeguard handling of payment information. Credit Card companies such as; American Express, Visa, Mastercard, and Discover, partners with PCI-DSS to help ensure security.
If you leave a comment, the comment and its metadata are retained indefinitely. This is so we can recognize and approve any follow-up comments automatically instead of holding them in a moderation queue.
For users that register on our website (if any), we also store the personal information they provide in their user profile. All users can see, edit, or delete their personal information at any time (except they cannot change their username). Website administrators can also see and edit that information.
If you have an account on this site, or have left comments, you can request to receive an exported file of the personal data we hold about you, including any data you have provided to us. We use safe web protocols, such as HTTPS via SSL, for communications and transferring data to help guard your data, implement Cloudfare web security services to protect our systems from potential online breaches, and monitor the website for added control. While we strive to use commercially acceptable means to protect your Personal Information, we cannot guarantee its absolute security. In order to ensure data protection, we recommend account holders safeguard their username + password and refrain from sharing.
In order to protect the website from prevent spamming and enhance security, we use reCAPTCHA.
Additional information
MedShadow services including this website and other services are intended for authorized adults only and require that users be no less than eighteen (18) years of age. Some services may require a minimum age of (21). Please see your state guidelines to learn the laws that apply to you.
Minors and users who do not meet authorized ages are prohibited from creating a User Account and profile, accessing the services & website, and/or purchasing products, memberships, or services from any MedShadow business lines.
We do not knowingly collect personally identifiable information from children under 18. If you are a parent or guardian and you are aware that your child has provided us with Personal Information, please contact us. If we discover that a child under 18 has provided us with Personal Information, we will delete such information from our servers immediately.
