Antidepressants: Side Effects
What are some of your most difficult side effects you have faced being on Antidepressants. Personally, I struggle to figure out sometimes what gives me which side effects. You don’t have to be on a multitude of drugs even, but it can be tough to tell why I feel how I feel. For example, if I am tired, did I just not get quality sleep? Do I need more exercise? Are my meds making me sleepy? I also struggle with depression and anxiety, which as its own symptom can include sleepiness. I’d be interested to know if you have isolated any particular side effects due to antidepressants.

Largely, I aim for medications not to make me too much NOT like myself. I have heard it described as making you “zombie-like” or just kind of sleepily moving through a day, feeling nothing. These are not side effects I’ve had but fear picking antidepressants out. Has anyone had experience with this?

My teen child refuses to try new medications because of this as well. I wish I had a solution for you, but am following this conversation to see what others (or other parents) have tried.
